Joel is an internationally award winning Art Director and Creative Director. His work has been recognized in almost every national and international award show, including: Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, CommArts, Clios, LIAs, The Effies, The Webby Awards, The CMA’s…

To name a few.


Joel got his feet wet as an intern at DDB Canada, back in 2003. Quickly promoted to full-time Art Director, Joel worked on numerous Canadian and global initiatives, building brands for clients like Philips, Capital One, Subaru and Glad.

In 2008 and 2009, Joel won the honour of representing Canada in the Cannes Young Lions competition. The 2009 competition saw Joel bring Canada its first Young Lion medal - a silver in the film category.

Embarking on a new adventure, in 2010, Joel joined Red Urban as their seventh hire and lead senior art director. His mission: To help build an agency from scratch with new business wins and grow the Volkswagen brand in Canada.

In 2013, he moved to BBDO Toronto as VP, Associate Creative Director to lead many of the agencies largest accounts.

With 18 years under his belt, extensive production knowledge on projects of every shape, size and budget, and experience on over 60 brands, Joel continues to find new, inventive ways no matter the medium, to tell a brand’s story, steer new creative talent, and drive results.
